About the Bilby
Found in limited areas of Western Queensland, Central Australian deserts and the West Kimberly region in Western Australia.
Bilbies are omnivores and grow up to 55 cm long. They have a long pointed nose, silky pale blue/grey fur, large ears and a crested black and white tail.
The Bilby burrows almost 2 metres deep to keep safe from predators. Considered almost extinct in 1985 huge efforts by dedicated persons are helping the species slowing regrow.
